Actress Rie Miyazawa, 36, gave birth to a healthy baby girl at a hospital in Tokyo on May 20. Miyazawa, who married last month and currently resides in Hawaii with her husband, a former pro surfer in his 40s, made the announcement via a statement to media on Saturday.
The actress described how strongly the birth affected her, saying, “I think the 10 months we spent together, and the moment she was born, are the greatest gift I could have received.” Miyazawa wrote that she is looking forward to life with her husband and daughter, and “I’m excited to see us grow together as a happy, healthy family.”

Rumors has originally indicated Miyazawa would give birth in Hawaii, but the actress’ management reported that the birth had taken place in Tokyo, at a hospital in Minato Ward famous for infertility treatments and maternity aerobics.
Miyazawa had originally revealed her pregnancy and plans for marriage in a statement in February. On April 2, the actress celebrated with friends and family at her garden wedding in Aoyama, registering the marriage around the same time. Her last appearance before taking maternity leave was on March 7 at the opening of the film “Gelatin Silver Love” in which she stars. From > |
