TOKYO — Actress Yuki Amami, 42, was all smiles at an event in Ebisu this week to promote manufacturer Toshiba’s latest appliance range aimed at housewives and the mother market. Amami stars in the commercial currently on air for the company’s new refrigerator and washing machine, featuring the slogan “Mama gokoro kaden.
” A Toshiba executive said at the event: “If mothers are happy with the new functions, then everyone will be happy.”
Amami, while single herself, became a symbol for middle-aged women after her performance in TBS drama “Around 40” last year, and this is her third year of working with Toshiba.
 
She said: “I look forward to the new features every time. The appliances are of course a big help for mothers, but they also help single ladies like me. I depend on the machines daily and it’s no exaggeration to say that Toshiba is supporting my life.” |
